I'm Denise Cummings-Fagan, LMHC, a licensed therapist in Florida with over 35 years of experience supporting adults through stress, anxiety, burnout, and the emotional weight of major life transitions.

Over the course of my career I have worked in community mental health and residential settings, helping individuals navigate complex emotional challenges, caregiver stress, and the pressure of holding everything together for everyone else. That experience shapes the way I show up in therapy today. Grounded, practical, and focused on what actually helps you move forward, not just cope.

But this work is not only professional for me.

I was a primary caregiver for my own parents. I navigated the changing personalities, the increasing health needs, the dementia, and the grief of watching the people who raised me become people who needed me to raise them. I made decisions nobody else would make. I kept showing up while quietly losing ground myself.

That is why I founded Options & Resolutions. Not because I studied caregiver burnout in a textbook. Because I lived it, and I know what it costs, and I know that the people carrying it almost never ask for help until they are already past the point of exhaustion.

I provide virtual caregiver therapy across Florida for adults who are stretched thin, overwhelmed, or navigating the emotional weight of caring for an aging parent. My goal is to help you find relief from anxiety, manage caregiver stress, and create a steadier, more sustainable way of living without losing yourself in the process.

My approach is calm, honest, and practical. I use a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and strengths-based approaches, always tailored to what you actually need rather than a one-size-fits-all method.

I also offer LGBTQ+ affirming therapy in Florida, creating a space where you can show up fully as yourself without explanation or judgment.

Outside of my work I enjoy traveling, spending time by the water, and being at home in Central Florida with my wife and our four beagles.
